A LITTLE MORE ABOUT MY 'WHY'
The thing that I am most passionate about in life, is seeing people realise their full potential and acknowledging that their interests and abilities are not coincidental but are for them to serve others, and make this world a better place. Even more so, helping others to KNOW completely that they actually can do all that they dream of is my FAVOURITE. That is how I want to live my life, and using my interests and abilities is how I want to do that.
Growing up, I had many friends who walked the journey of, and become blinded by, the struggles of mental health issues. I watched as they slowly lost focus of all the goodness around them and could only see one thing: darkness. I saw how drastically depression & anxiety ruled and ruined much of their lives to a point where I wanted to do more than just 'be there' for them. I wanted to know how to make it stop, or even just make it better - for a simple way of putting it.
I was convinced that the food we ate played more of a role in mental health than we realised, and that instead of turning to harsh medications as the only option, we could use what was provided for us from the beginning. Throw back to 6 years ago when I began my studies in a Bachelor of Nutrition with a Major in Psychology - people thought I was crazy for studying two things that had nothing to do with each other: "What are you going to do with that?", they'd always ask. Still to this day people ask why I studied what I did, yet only now is this intersection between Nutrition and Psychology becoming more common knowledge.
I understand that when you're in the place of dealing with these imprisoning thoughts that reign supreme in your mind, asking for help is one of the hardest things to do. It would be so good if you could do something yourself to help relieve and alleviate some of the symptoms. That's where I come in - I want to empower and educate you to regain control of your mental health, and to show you exactly what you can do to ensure the chemicals in your brain are working for you and not against you.
People are everything to me. I truly want to help you see again - see in the full sense of the word! So let's work together to get you on the road to YOU again!
Here's to good food & good moods,
Jess x
